Lead United

Lead Anyway - 2025 Lead United Summit

Do it Anyway - Mother Teresa
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives; Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies; Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you; Be honest and frank anyway.
What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight; Build anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous; Be happy anyway.
The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow; Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough; Give the world the best you've got anyway.

  • Michael Stone, Leading AI Expert and Vice President of Innovative Learning - Public Education Foundation

Session 4: Keynote

Keynote Title: Lead Anyway: Bold, Resilient, and Real in the Nonprofit World

Keynote Description: Leading in the nonprofit world isn’t for the faint of heart. Budgets are tight, the needs never stop growing, and somehow you’re supposed to smile through it all and “lead with grace.” But here’s the thing: leadership isn’t about waiting until everything is perfect. It’s about showing up when it’s hard, speaking up when it’s unpopular, and choosing to lead anyway.

In this high-energy, no-fluff keynote, Naomi brings her trademark mix of humor, candor, and hard-won wisdom to remind us why we do this work and how we can do it without losing ourselves in the process. You’ll leave with a fresh spark of courage and a big-picture reminder that your leadership matters - mess and all.

Because the truth is: leadership isn’t about being polished. It’s about being present. And when we lead anyway, we make space for others to do the same.

Keynote Speaker:

  • Naomi Asher, The Maven: Naomi Asher Consulting
