United Way of the Ocoee Region is inviting businesses, organizations, and individuals from across Bradley and Polk counties to make a tangible difference during Day of Action 2026 on Friday, July 31.

The annual event mobilizes volunteers to complete hands-on service projects that strengthen local schools and nonprofits to improve communities throughout the Ocoee Region. Participants will spend the morning working on projects identified by site partners before gathering for United Way's annual Campaign Kickoff luncheon.

Day of Action is the largest organized volunteer initiative in the region, demonstrating the power of collective action to address local needs. In 2025, more than 490 volunteers served at 28 project sites, contributing more than 1,960 service hours and generating an estimated $68,000 in monetized value in a single day.

"Day of Action is a powerful reminder of what can happen when people come together to serve a common purpose," said Stephanie Linkous, President and CEO of United Way of the Ocoee Region. "Every volunteer, every project, and every hour invested helps strengthen the organizations that are working every day to improve lives throughout our community."

Projects support United Way's bold goals of breaking the cycle of poverty, meeting immediate basic needs, giving kids an equal chance, and building pathways to a healthy community. Volunteer teams may assist with painting, landscaping, facility improvements, construction projects, organization efforts, and other initiatives designed to increase the capacity of local schools and nonprofit agencies.

Individuals and corporate teams are encouraged to register and participate. Registration ($25 per person; sponsorships also available) includes a commemorative #Unitedfor250 (America Gives) Day of Action t-shirt, light breakfast at project sites, lunch at the Campaign Kickoff event, and recognition through United Way's social media channels.
