Keith McAfee was appointed Director of the Cleveland, TN Regional Jetport in December 2024, bringing a broad, well‑rounded background across the educational, corporate, general aviation, and governmental sectors of the aerospace industry.
McAfee’s leadership journey began in the United States Marine Corps, where he first developed the management and organizational skills that would shape his career. His passion for aviation took root in Middle Tennessee, where he completed his undergraduate studies in aerospace and earned his private pilot certificate with instrument rating and other endorsements. During this time, he gained hands‑on experience as a flight line attendant and apprenticed under a local A&P mechanic. He further expanded his skill set by completing a minor in Business Management and interning with an aviation advertising firm in New England.
Following his undergraduate work, McAfee was accepted into a graduate program in aerospace, with a focus on airport planning and design, as well as airline and airport operations. He also completed an internship with a Tennessee‑based airport planning firm, deepening his understanding of airport development and infrastructure.
With a strong foundation in technical knowledge, operational experience, and leadership development, McAfee launched his professional career in the aviation industry, steadily building a reputation for strategic thinking, operational excellence, and a commitment to advancing the aviation community.
